The ʿAlimu-l-Madīnah
The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:
“People will soon travel great distances seeking knowledge, and they will not find anyone more knowledgeable than the ʿAlimu-l-Madīnah.”
In this thread, we will gather the various wordings of the narration, analyze its chains, establish its strength and reliability, present the testimonies of the muḥaddithūn who graded it authentic, and demonstrate how the scholars identified the ʿĀlimu-l-Madīnah mentioned in the report as ʾImām Mālik ibn ʾAnas.
